Documentary about South Africa’s most notorious government assassin under the apartheid regime. Eugene de Kock was a highly decorated & powerful man able to choose whether people lived or died.
He was taught by the South African government to lead police death squads against enemies of the state. De Kock held the unsavoury title of being the number one assassin under the apartheid regime.
Nicknamed as Prime Evil, De Kock was in charge of the state-sanctioned murders at the notorious Vlakplaas detention centre.
The people he would kill were mainly connected with the ANC. We interview torture victims and friends of De Kock to establish the murky past of this mysterious man.
At the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), De Kock, confessed to more than 100 acts of murder, torture and fraud.
At his trial in the 1990’s he was sentenced to two life terms plus 212 years in prison for crimes against humanity.
