Description
In this film we look at the attempts inside Pakistan to crack-down on extremist education organisations. For many children, the only form of education they receive is through Madrassa schools where the focus is on Islamic religious studies. Critics accuse Madrassas of fostering Islamic militancy and of being a recruiting ground for Jihadi groups. Now, Pakistani children have an alternative: schools, which offer a broad-based curriculum as well as the Koran. As we discovered, it’s just one of the fundamental changes taking place in Pakistani society today.
