Malawi’s AIDS List 9:00, 2003 (Ref: AF03376)

Description

Imagine being able to save just one member of your family and having to choose which one. It would be a bit like Schindler’s List.

In AIDS-stricken Africa that’s a real choice facing thousands of families.

In Malawi, one million people are HIV positive. In 2001 the United States and European Union promised billions to pay for AIDS drugs but Malawi has seen only enough money to treat three thousand people.

As we see in this film, Malawi’s AIDS List, that means many agonising choices as to who will make it on to the treatment list and who will be left to die.

In Malawi’s AIDS List we meet the people who have to make these decisions and the doctors who see the impact.
