Description
It’s just a matter of time before another flu pandemic kills millions. That’s the view of scientists. It’s winter in the northern hemisphere and the flu is doing the rounds again – but this year it’s worse than normal, reaching epidemic proportions in some countries.
In this documentary, we look at the last big pandemic of Spanish flu in 1918 which killed an estimated 40 million people. The film also examines the prospects of a new pandemic. We see footage from the time of the 1918 pandemic and see the “measures” people took to deal with it. We look at the origins of this killer and what scientists are doing to try and avoid another pandemic.
