It’s a trade that works on the simple basis of supply and demand. Thousands of dollars are paid for babies, of which in India’s poor rural areas there is a plentiful supply. The babies are bought through brokers by foreigners desperate for a child. We travelled to India to look closer at this illegal adoption trade.
