Description
Swiss stills photographer Karl Ammann takes pictures that shock the world. Karl has worked in Africa for many years trying to focus the world’s attention on the desperate plight of chimpanzees and gorillas who are regularly illegally killed for food. Karl says they are in danger of becoming extinct as they are being killed to feed the workers of mainly European and American companies that are logging in Cameroon and Congo.
They are also being sold to Westerners as pets. Along with Karl, Frenchwoman Madame Jamar is also working to save the chimps in Congo. As we see in this documentary their methods are not always orthodox or politically correct, but their message is clear – time is running out for the Great Apes of Africa. This film follows Karl and gains an amazing insight into how he conducts his campaign, his personal life and an amazing visit to Madame Jamar’s sanctuary.
