And nowhere is the need for renewable energy greater than in China. It is now officially the biggest emitter of carbon in the world. It may be the world’s biggest polluter but it’s also leading the way in finding solutions. In solar power technology and in wind farms, China is making huge improvements. Interviews include Li Jungfeng, the Deputy Director General of Beijing’s Energy Research Institute & Secretary General of the China Renewable Energy Industries Association. He’s one of the key figures in China’s renewable revolution. The programme also goes to Wuxi, near Shanghai, where we meet Dr Shi, head of Suntech, a solar panel manufacturing company.
